TZT Merzouga 2024
8th Edition
The TZT Merzouga 2024 is the 8th edition of an ultra-trail set in the stunning Sahara Desert, taking place from October 11 to 18, 2024. This extreme event covers 200 kilometers over 5 stages, offering participants the chance to test their endurance in one of the world’s most challenging environments. The trail is organized by the Belgian non-profit Run to Start, with a focus on both sporting achievement and local community support.
Participants will traverse iconic sand dunes, rocky desert landscapes, and mountain paths in the Merzouga region. Known for its awe-inspiring scenery, Merzouga is located in the south of Morocco and is a popular destination for various desert competitions. The event is also a charitable initiative, supporting local schools and communities through the funds raised.
The TZT Merzouga is known not only for its physical challenges but also for the unique bivouac experience. Competitors will spend nights in well-equipped camps, enjoying local hospitality and the serene desert night skies. However, the event is demanding both physically and mentally, requiring participants to be fully prepared for the extreme desert conditions.
