What is the TZT MERZOUGA ?

For this 8th edition, we propose you a 200km course in 5 stages, in Merzouga, with always a long stage planned during the week.

The detailed planning with the different stages will be communicated to you after you have registered.

The last stage will take place from the bivouac in Merzouga to the town of Arfoud, where all participants will be accommodated in a hotel for the last night.

Located in the south of Morocco, the region of Merzouga is famous all over the world for its incredible landscapes. With its ocher and sand landscapes, it is an ideal playground for runners of the extreme. The climate and the landscape are ideal for a sports competition.

Registration process

The Bivouac

We have the chance to run in one of the most beautiful places in Morocco … Merzouga.

Our main bivouac, in the heart of the big sand dunes, has all the comfort of a luxury camp. Bed, toilet, shower, eating area and beautiful places where you can drink a mint tea after the stages or admire the stars in peace, feet in the sand.

Our second bivouac, where we will spend two nights, will be more basic to give you the real experience of camping in the desert.

Merzouga, located in the province of Errachidia, in south-eastern Morocco

Merzouga is a small village, located in south-eastern Morocco, at the gates of the Sahara Desert and a few kilometers from the Algerian border.

This region of the desert is famous for its incredible dunes, the highest in the country, but also for the different sports competitions that take place there every year. Some of the best known are the Raid 4L Trophy, the Rallye Aicha des Gazelles and formerly the Rallye Paris-Dakar.
