During one of our early visits to Zagora, we had the chance to meet part of the team behind APCIZ, a local association supporting children with disabilities. What began as a dedicated class for children with Down Syndrome at the Cherif Alaoui school has since grown into a fully functioning center for children with physical and mental disabilities.
Today, this center welcomes nearly 100 children, offering them tailored support: educational programs, therapy, specialized transport, and parental guidance. The work done by APCIZ is both essential and deeply rooted in the local community.
Each year, the team at APCIZ shares with us the most urgent needs and new project ideas. Based on the funds raised through TZTM and other initiatives, we decide together which actions we can support, whether that’s helping cover transport costs, funding equipment, or supporting staff training.
Our goal isn’t to lead, it’s to listen, empower, and support a local structure that’s making a real, lasting difference
