TZT M’HAMID – From October 9 to October 17, 2026
Article 1. Background
1.1 The TZTM M’HAMID is organized by Run To Start. The Event will be held in the desert of M’Hamid El Ghizlane and the region of Zagora, in Morocco. The Event has a strong emphasis on promoting and supporting the local culture, history and gastronomy, and is strongly committed to protecting the natural environment.
1.2 This race is a tough physical and mental challenge and is designed for anyone in reasonable shape with strong determination to complete it. Participants are welcomed from all countries and cultures, of any religion, gender or age (+18).
1.3 The Event is a 5-day ultra-trail stage race (200 km to be completed in 5 stages). During each stage several checkpoints must be passed. Each participant must carry the mandatory equipment throughout the stage (see equipment checklist). At each checkpoint participants will be provided with drinking water.
There will be time limits on the long stages. These limits will be set by the organizers at the briefings the day before, depending on weather conditions. Limits apply from CP3, CP4, CP5 and at the finish line.
Throughout the event, participants will be supported by professional volunteers, race doctors, the organizers and local staff.

Article 2. General
2.1 By registering for this event, you confirm that you have read and understood these Rules & Regulations and that you fully agree with their contents, without exception.
2.2 Before entering this race, every participant must sign all mandatory forms including these Rules & Regulations.
2.3 Run To Start reserves the right to change these Rules & Regulations at any time. Valid versions are always available on the website.

Article 3. Admission Requirements
3.1 Run To Start reserves exclusive rights to allocate a place in the race, decline an application or withdraw a participant at any time.
3.2 You must be at least 18 years of age at the start of the event.
3.3 You accept that the race includes a wide range of terrain and weather conditions. The course is mainly off-road.
3.4 You acknowledge and accept that the race is mentally and physically demanding. You confirm you are well-prepared and meet all medical requirements. Participation is at your own risk. Run To Start cannot be held liable for any personal or material damage.
3.5 When applying, every participant must fill in the Registration Form and accept these Rules & Regulations.

Article 4. Declaration of Agreement
By participating, you agree that:
• You have fully read and understood the Rules & Regulations.
• All information provided in your Registration Form is true and accurate.
• You join the event entirely at your own risk and cannot hold Run To Start liable for damage or loss.
• Your Medical Certificate is accurate, completed by a qualified doctor, and reflects your health status.
• All travel arrangements are your sole responsibility.
• You authorize the medical team to take all necessary measures to protect your health.
• You are physically prepared and fit at the start of the race.

Article 5. Environmental Protection
5.1 It is strictly forbidden to leave litter on the course, checkpoints or camps.
5.2 Leave the natural environment exactly as you found it. No fires, no damage, no removal of natural features.
5.3 Treat locals with respect and act as an ambassador for your country and the race.
5.4 Use toilet facilities at camp. During stages, bury waste and paper.

Article 6. Registration and Payment
6.1 To compete, each participant must:
a) Apply via the Online Registration Form.
b) Be allocated a place by Run To Start.
c) Pay the entry fee of 1950€ as advised.
Your participation is only confirmed once full payment is completed:
• 950€ non-refundable deposit required to secure your place
• Remaining 1000€ must be paid before June 30, 2026
If the remaining balance is not paid by this date, your place is automatically lost.
d) Submit all mandatory forms.
e) Send the Medical Certificate by email before the start of the event.
6.2 Participants are responsible for their own passport, visa and immigration requirements. Run To Start accepts no responsibility for refusal of entry into Morocco.

Article 7. Cancellation
7.1 A participant may withdraw at any time.
7.2 If cancellation occurs before August 15, 2026, the registration fee (excluding the deposit) is refunded.
7.3 If cancellation occurs after August 15, 2026, no refund is given.
7.4 Participation cannot be postponed to a future edition.
7.5 Registrations are personal and non-transferable.
7.6 The organization may withdraw a participant’s place for any reason. If withdrawal occurs before the start, a full refund is given.
7.7 The organization may modify the schedule or race course for safety or external reasons.
7.8 The organization may cancel the race due to outside events, danger or environmental risk. In that case the race will be rescheduled.

Article 8. Insurance
8.1 Each participant must take out appropriate personal, physical and material insurance.
8.2 Participants acknowledge the risks inherent to the terrain, climate and environment, and release the organization from liability.
8.3 Cancellation insurance is strongly recommended.

Article 9. The Course
9.1 The organization may modify or change the course at any time.
9.2 Participants must follow the marked route and check in at all checkpoints. Missing checkpoints results in time penalties.
9.3 The course will be visibly marked.
9.4 Removing or damaging markings is strictly forbidden.
9.5 The Race Director determines penalties based on circumstances.
9.6 Participants must refill hydration systems at each checkpoint.
9.7 Time limits apply on long stages (CP3, CP4, CP5, finish), set during briefings.

Article 10. Camps
10.1 All participants, staff and volunteers stay in the same camps. You may not leave camp without notifying organizers.
10.2 Toilet facilities will be provided and must be used.

Article 11. Equipment
11.1 Mandatory equipment must be carried at all times.
11.2 Participants must carry their own equipment.
11.3 Equipment checks will be conducted. Missing items may result in penalties or disqualification.

Article 12. Bibs
12.1 Each participant receives 5 bibs (one per stage). Bibs must be worn on the front.
12.2 Each participant receives a GPS tracker and must wear it correctly.
Loss of the tracker requires reimbursement of 150€.

Article 13. Water
13.1 Water is provided in limited quantities at each checkpoint for drinking only.
Meals (breakfast, lunch, snacks, dinner) are fully catered at camp.

Article 14. Ranking and Timing
14.1 Timing begins simultaneously at each stage start and ends individually at the finish.
14.2 The fastest accumulated time wins (male and female categories).
14.3 All participants are ranked by accumulated time.
14.4 Cut-off times apply at checkpoints and stage finishes. Non-respect results in withdrawal from the race; continuation depends on the Race Director.

Article 15. Penalties
15.1 Breaking rules or unsportsmanlike behavior results in time penalties or disqualification, at the Race Director’s discretion.

Article 16. Dropping out
16.1 No participant may leave the race without informing organizers.
16.2 Withdrawn participants will be transported to the next camp as conditions allow.

Article 17. Medical Assistance
17.1 A medical team is present throughout the race with appropriate vehicles. The medical team may disqualify any participant deemed unfit to continue.

Article 18. Protest and Complaints
18.1 A protest desk will be available at each camp.
18.2 Protests must be expressed on the day of the stage.
18.3 All decisions of the event director are final and binding.

19.1 Participants who finish all stages within limits receive a medal.

Article 20. Image Rights
20.1 Run To Start & Melissa Derome hold exclusive rights to all photos and footage. Images may only be used personally unless authorized by the organization.

Article 21. Final Statement
21.1 All participants must abide by these rules to ensure a safe, fair and eco-friendly event.
21.2 Any infringement may lead to penalties or disqualification at the Race Director’s discretion.
